Organization Introduction
Narora barrage was constructed in the year 1967 at a place called Narora in Tehsil Dibai of district Bulandshahr. Two canal systems emerge from the right bank of this barrage, out of which the Lower Ganga Canal was constructed in the year 1878 and the parallel Lower Ganga Canal in 1982. All the canals of the organization come under the Lower Ganga Canal System. There are 02 main canals in the organization (Lower Ganga Canal and parallel Lower Ganga Canal) and through 07 branch canals coming out of the Lower Ganga Canal, 176 nos. Rajbaha and 812 nos. Alpika total 997 Irrigation facilities are provided in a total of 8637.120 km length of canals. Under the organization, the head of the main canal falls in Narora district Bulandshahr and tail in Kaushambi district.


The total cultivable area under the organization is 11.72 lakh hectares. PCA Kharif is 4.86 lakh hectare and Rabi is 4.22 hectare. Irrigation facility is provided through 15 blocks in 12 districts (Kasganj, Etah, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Auraiya, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Fatehpur and Kaushambi) under Ramganga organization.
